Activity Levels

Activity Levels measure your fitness progress on a 28-day rolling cycle. Activity Level is a 28-day rolling period where you accumulate as many points as possible through workouts. The more intense a workout is, the more energy your body expends, and the more Activity Points you earn.

What counts as activity points

You earn Activity Points for every workout you complete and record in the app. This includes:

  • Strength Training: EGYM Smart Strength machines and manual strength exercises.

  • Cardio Workouts: Smart Cardio machines and manual cardio activities.

  • Flexibility Training: Flexibility and mobility work, including EGYM Smart Flex.

  • Group Classes: Fitness classes offered at your gym.

  • Sport-Specific Activities: Sports like football, tennis, and other athletic activities.

  • Daily Routine Activity: General movement and daily steps tracked from connected apps and wearables (Apple Health, fitness trackers, etc.).

How points are calculated

Activity Points are based on the energy you burn during your workout, personalized to your body type, duration, and intensity. One Activity Point equals the energy your body burns in one minute of sitting at rest. Daily routine activities (like steps) use separate scoring adjustments, so they are scored differently than dedicated workouts. The system accounts for differences in fitness levels—stronger individuals must work harder to earn the same points as less trained individuals.

How it works

  • For each completed activity—whether strength, cardio, flexibility, classes, sports, or daily movement—you receive points.

  • The app always shows how many points are still needed for the next level.

  • All the point thresholds for individual activity levels on the EGYM Member App are based on scientific studies which investigated the effects of a certain degree of physical activity on people's health.

Activity level thresholds

There are 6 activity levels (Wood, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond). The Gold activity level corresponds exactly to the minimum recommendation by the WHO for physical activity in adults. To achieve this level you need to earn at least 2,300 activity points within 28 days, which equates to approximately 150 minutes of moderate activity per week.

28-Day cycle

Your points are always reset to zero when you reach a new level, or your 28 day training period comes to an end. This keeps you motivated to stay consistent with your training.
