Isokinetic training

Isokinetic training works by controlling the speed of movement. Unlike traditional machines where maximum effort typically occurs at a 90-degree joint angle, isokinetic training maintains consistent resistance across the entire range of motion. Serving therapeutic and performance goals equally, the controlled nature of this strength training makes it ideally suited for physiotherapy, rehab therapy, and athletic workouts alike.

The precise, real-time feedback makes it an effective way to build strength and joint mobility while reducing strain risk.

Note

Complete a strength test before your first workout so the system can personalize your training weight.

  1. Tap Isokinetic. To learn how to change the training method, refer to Modifier les réglages d'entraînement.Modifier les réglages d'entraînement

The screen allows you to specify the number of repetitions you would like to complete as well as the training weight and visualization you prefer while you exercise. The option to adjust this setting is only available in Individual Mode.

Tap Confirm to select the training method.

  2. Appuyez sur Démarrer.

    EGYM Curve for Isokinetic Training

    isokinetic-3.png

The EGYM Curve visualizes the exercise you perform both while lifting (the positive phase) and lowering weight (the negative phase).

    The screen displays these elements:

    • A timer at the top of the screen

    • A counter that tracks completed repetitions

    • The EGYM Curve - The curve itself represents the target amount of resistance applied during each phase. The curve is gray at the beginning of each repetition. As each phase is completed, each segment of the curve turns orange to indicate progress.

    • White graph lines - Each line charts the intensity, fluctuation, and consistency of your movement. Each repetition is tracked with its own line. The repetition in progress is represented by a line thicker than the others.

    • The weight setting that you can adjust manually

    EGYM Bar for Isokinetic Training

The bar on screen raises and lowers matching your physical movement. The screen also displays the total current weight lifted, your total target weight, and the number of completed repetitions.

As the machine automatically adjusts its resistance to match your effort, the screen visualizes the amount of resistance applied by dynamically adjusting the width of the horizontal bar across the numbered, background scale.

  3. The screen displays a notification when you have reached your target.

  4. If you exceed your target weight, the system shows you how much the extra you have lifted.
